Latin America, Mexico, ca. 20th century CE. A finely painted "La Anima Sola" (Lone Soul or Lonely Spirit) themed iron nicho, a dramatic depiction that represents souls in purgatory in a style influenced by the great tradition of tenebroso (tenebrism) employing pronounced chiaroscuro with extreme contrasts of lights and darks to imbue the composition with strong emotional content rivaling that of live theater. Size: 7.75" W x 10.75" H (19.7 cm x 27.3 cm)

Condition
Some bending to edges and slight indentations to form but overall imagery is still very clear. Intact and excellent with nice pigments and rich patina throughout.
