DESCRIPTION: Very fine and important Victorian Recamier or settee in the Rosalie with Grapes pattern attributed to John Henry Belter (1804-1863 working in New York City) circa 1857-1860. The form consisting of a shaped back with finely carved grapes and flowers on both the crest and chair. The form typical of this pattern. Probably one of a now separated power. Covered in yellow damask. MEASUREMENT: 38" wide x 19" deep x 37-3/4" high. CONDITION: Very good, consistent with age. MEG
