circa 1760-1780, related to the important group of Chippendale chairs from the Van Rensselaer Family of New York, serpentine crest rail with rocaille carving, scrolled pierced splat centered by a tassel medallion, trapezoidal seat with gadrooned molding, deeply carved acanthus knees, cabriole legs, ball and claw feet, interior rear seat rail incised "1" and pencil inscribed "New York", 38-1/2 x 24 x 23 in.
