1565 English sixpence, found at Jamestown; 1775 English halfpenny found at Concord; three silver coins possibly from the Hollandia or other shipwreck, eight reales cob, Dutch ducaton "rider", Spanish Netherlands ducaton of Philip IV; three bronze 16th century Spanish coins, found near Jamestown; two Virginia halfpennies, one found at Yorktown, the other in Maryland; shadowbox 8 x 12-1/4 in.

Note: Dr. Francis Amos of Rocky Mount, Virginia assembled coins to fully illustrate the history of coinage used throughout the world. He concentrated on biblical coinage of the Holy Land as well as coins which circulated in the early days of the American colonies. Regarding the latter, many in his collection were from excavated finds unearthed from Virginia soil.
