This rich original watercolor is of butterflies or moths. It's from a watercolor album done by James John Walker titled Exotic Butterflies Drawn and Coloured from ….Specimens in own collection. They were completed in Torquay, England between 1908 and 1915.

Each specimen is named in Latin. The watercolor is dated and signed. A photocopy is included of the photograph and signature from the author that was originally included in the front paste-down.

James John Walker produced several papers in the early 1900s on Lepidoptera. His extensive collection of Lepidoptera would be gifted to the Torquay Museum.
