Late 19th/Early 20th Century. The figures of a male with arm raised, a flower on his back, a goat at his feet; the other a woman with bird on a rock looking over her shoulder; the tallest 10 3/4in. Condition: On the male, the goat is missing a horn, and there is a crack in the base. FROM THE FAMILY OF REV. CHARLES HARTWELL (1825-1905) and Lucy Estabrook Stearns Hartwell (1827-1883); their children Charles Stearns Hartwell (1855-1931), Emily Susan Hartwell (1859-1951), and Carrie Amelia Hartwell Tupper (1864-1959); Congregational missionaries and philanthropists in Foochow (Fuzhou), China, 1850s-1930s.
