Description
A pair of matching needlepoint wool-work pictures, hand sewn into paper patterns, circa 1850-60. The first depicting a young man holding goose and a young girl petting deer - castle in background; the second of young man and woman in garden setting with brick wall, each appear to be holding an animal. Both in original wooden frames in paint over gesso with gold insets - original backboards with original square nails and appears to never have been removed from frames . Some use wear to frames, otherwise good condition. Measures 7 5/8" x 9 1/2".
