Description
A red and black grain painted S. Hoadley (Silas Hoadley, Plymouth CT, 1786-1870) Hepplewhite tall case clock with attached history tracing original owner to Portland Me, 1842, though the clock is likely earlier than this date. The bonnet in matching grain paint with 2 brass finials flanking the arched top with a brass spread wing eagle mounted on orb. The hand painted wooden face has a hairline and the wooden works with some replaced wooden parts. The clock without weights and weighted end to pendulum. Total measurement 92"H x 10"D x 18 1/2"W. Clock has not been tested, small stain bottom right corner of base, no glass over face, but otherwise the case and bonnet appear in good condition.
