Description
1) pair of large round fibulas, silver, cast and engraved, d: 10.5 cm x 15 cm (needle); w: 312 g

Large round fibulas, with or without chain or pectoral, were found throughout the Maghreb. Made of different metal alloys, they were often the only "jewellery" of simple everyday clothing.

2) pair of round fibulas with a dew-like twisted body, probably Tunisia, silver, cast and engraved, d: 8.0 cm x 12.0 cm (pin); w: 150 g - with a beautiful worn patina

3) pectoral with two "khamsa" and disc-shaped pendant engraved with fish and bird motif, as well as sun symbol, silver sheet, attached to three-stranded silver chain, m: 5,5 cm x 4 cm; d: 5,7 cm (pendant); l: 36 cm (total); w: 75 g

The two hands of Fatima ("khamsa") protect the wearer against the Evil Eye. The hand also represents the five fundamental principles of the Islam.

4: two openwork triangle fibulas, silver, cast, m: 11.4 cm x 4.6 cm and 10.5 x 5.2 cm; w: 4.2 g

These small open worked triangle fibulas with wide brooch rings are THE typical Tunisian jewellery item par excellence.
