This pair of Type 812 sconces by Svend Mejlstrøm features torch-style flared arms in polished brass, terminating in lovely emerald green glass shades. Each features a single socket wired for a chandelier-style bulb with a max of 40W. Both wall plates are labeled "Mejlstrøm Belysning" with hand-written model numbers - one is also labeled "Designed by Sv. Mejlstrøm". A playful marriage of the old and the new, the Model 812 sconce by Svend Mejlstrøm features a polished brass body and bold torch-style trumpet arm capped by a mushroom-style glass shade which harkens back to the oil lamps of yore. Mejlstrøm's design gives these oil lamps a 20th Century makeover, eliminating the redundancy of a hurricane with electric wiring and streamlining the form with clean lines and modern finishes; the result is a lamp with lasting style, rooted in tradition.
