This fabulous banana-style sofa dates from the transitional period between the Art Deco and Modern design movements. It is especially rare due to its large size; it can easily seat four guests, or a family of two (plus dogs!) making it the perfect piece for a casual space. The avocado green striped wool twill upholstery is original to the period. An icon of early Modern design, the "banana" sofa's bold curved silhouette was designed to encourage conversation by angling sitters inward to face each other. Since its earliest days, the curved sofa has evolved - taking on more and more avant-garde forms inspired by the organic and the everyday, from Jules Leleu to Vladimir Kagan.
