Description
19th century Holly drake blackhead duck decoy with extensive weathering on top and loss on the bottom. Has a well aged wood and patina. Measures approx 11.5" L. Late 19th Century canvasback drake duck decoy marked "NH" (Norman Henry), the owner, on bottom with no additional marks. Measures approx 14.25". Has some worn original paint loss, crack on neck, restored bill and a couple of shot marks. (From the direct descendants of Baynard & Mary Gibson Henry. Both were prominent figures and contributors in Philadelphia. Mary Gibson Henry was a notable botanist and her plant collections were the first in creation of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University in Philadelphia.)
