Carved wooden swivel head on wooden body jointed at shoulders, extended long torso with wheel of eight wooden legs with painted ankle boots; carved comb-marked painted brown hair drawn behind the ears into a coiled bun, inset brown glass eyes, dot type lashes, fine arched eyebrows, closed mouth, gown of antique blue and cream silk with black accents; contained in her original blue tapestry covered box. Commentary: Gorgeous replica of an early 19th century original which exhibited the unique “wheel of legs” which enabled the doll to “walk” when pushed across the floor. Mint condition.
