Signed lower left, oil on panel. A collage-like painting depicting scenes and faces of WWII. Unframed, 17" high, 26" wide. Varnak was a trained artist, art teacher, and illustrator in Pittsburgh, PA. He painted murals for US Steel during WWI. Thomas was from Fargo, ND and became known for murals and history paintings. GP
