Description
An antique 1920s Ediphone, Edisons Electric Voicewriter. The device has a metal case that rests on four wheeled feet. The lot also includes three wax cylinder cases. The item has a wired handset for voice recording and three switches on the front. Marked Edison Made in West Orange NJ USA on the backside. The Ediphone was one of the two competing wax cylinder phonograph systems for voice dictation, the other being the Alexandre Bells Dictaphone system. Edisons system was first introduced in 1887.
