Description
A Polish-Hungarian saber featuring the characteristic hilt of L-guard type, the wooden grip with finger stalls is covered in leather. The robust, shallowly-curved blade with pronounced raised backedge. Marked on the ricasso with a six-pointed star and an engraved image of an eagle head. Circa the late 19th century. The Hungarian-Polish saber is a type of saber that was formed in Hungary and became widespread in Poland from the second half of the 16th century.
