Four Cobalt-decorated Stoneware Crocks and Two Jugs, America, late 19th century. Assembled group includes two small unsigned crocks, one with painted 1/2-gallon capacity figure, a one-gallon crock with impressed mark of Frank B. Norton & Co. (1858-c. 1880), Worcester, Massachusetts, and one two-gallon crock impressed 'S.L. Pewtress & Co. / Fair Haven, Conn.' for Samuel Lester Pewtress (1837-1915), above capacity figure '2'; together with a one-gallon jug impressed 'White's, Utica' above unusual painted bird motif, and one three-gallon jug impressed 'J. HART / SHERBURNE' for British-American potter James Hart (c. 1795-1864) above cobalt-painted capacity figure '3', largest, 25cm wide, 25cm deep, 40cm high (10in wide, 10in deep, 16 1/4in high).
