Bound in full crimson polished calf by Bayntun, gilt with gilt center vignette of the Queen of Hearts on front board. All edges gilt.
The letter is dated Friday on Tennial personal letterhead. The letter reads "Haste!!!. / My Dear Will. Fred. / Far from forgetting the arrangement, I assure you I have been looking forward to the pleasure of seeing you tomorrow - and a "happy day" on Sunday - with the liveliest(underlined) satisfaction. / I shall probably arrive at about 6 o'clock. / Kind love to both, from / Your always sincerely / John Tenniel.
Condition: Minor rubbing to spine, starting to joints at head of binding. Occasional spotting.
