Description
Two Pewter Plates and a Charger, Boston, Massachusetts, early 19th century. The charger impressed with mark of Thomas Badger, Jr. (1764-1826), the initials R.W., and partial impression 'BOSTON' on underside; dinner plate with mark of George Richardson, Sr. (1782-1848) and faintly inscribed 'H. Colburn' on underside; the smaller plate impressed 'S.G. BOSTON' for Samuel Green (1757-c. 1834), largest, 35cm wide, 17cm deep, 35cm high (14 7/8in wide, 7/8in deep, 14 7/8in high). Note A similar Richardson deep dish and Badger charger are in the collection of Winterthur Museum, Wilmington, Delaware (acc. 1956.0059.018 and 1965.1545).
