Wright built his home and studio in the Chicago suburb in 1899 and lived and worked there continuously through 1909. During this prolific period in his career, Wright executed many of his most well-known designs, including numerous residences, the Larkin Administration Building, and Unity Temple, and forever altered the formal and spatial characteristics of architecture in the process. This stationary, which Wright and his secretary Isabel Roberts would have used in his office at the Oak Park Studio, reflects the architect's predilection for simple, geometric forms and intentional use of negative space, both hallmarks of modernism. Astonishingly, the present examples were never used nor mailed and remain in exceptional condition as a result. HID03101062020 © 2023 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
