Description
American. 1929. Painted wood. A 1929 wood and composition jointed, fully articulating doll designed by Maxfield Parrish. Parrish was commissioned to design an advertising mascot for General Electric Radio (note GE on top black button). Parrish came up with "Bandy", whose name represented the 'big bands' which were popular on radio of the day. This doll is made by Cameo Doll Company, Port Allegheny, PA. Marked, "Art Quality Mfrs Cameo Products, Port Allegany, PA", underneath on heel of shoe. 19.5" x 7" x 4".
Condition
Belt is replaced, and separated on reverse. All joints are intact, and tight. Minor chips/touchups to edges of jacket and shoulder pads.
