Description
English. 1905. Single-sided porcelain (SSP). The producer of this sign - The Patent Enamel Company of Birmingham England - is the first company in the world to produce porcelain enamel signs. When this sign was produced, BSA (Birmingham Small Arms Company) produced high-grade bicycles. Eventually, the firm would go on to produce motorcycles and other vehicles. Marked, "Patent Enamel Co., B'Ham", lower edge. 6' x 4'.
Condition
Very good condition. Partial loss to the upper corners. Touch-ups to the blue between the "N" in "Fittings", and two areas of touch-up (largest 2") to the blue field between "Eadie" and "Fittings".
