Description
American and Japanese. 1960s. The first of these 1960s-era mics is the smart-looking satin black and chrome mic on the left. It is a Japanese Calrad DM-9, designed as a general-purpose mic and supplied in a Hi Z setting. The middle mic is a Michigan-made Electro-Voice 674 Cardioid Dynamic mic with an on/off switch and with variable Hi and Lo-Z impedance. It comes with its original box and engineering data sheet. The mic on the right and on a shorter stand is a Calrad DM-17. It has been described as a blatant copy of a particular American-made microphone of the 1960s, while others see it as an elegant reinterpretation. Either way, it’s a good-looking mic equipped with an on/off switch and variable impedance. It displays nicely on a well-matched stand. DM17: 9" x 7.25" x 5". DM9: 12.5" x 5.5" x 5.5". 674: 10" x 8.5" x 5".
