Description
A special, occupational, fixed globe, brass lantern, probably made by D.D. Miller in New York ca. 1860, as it has many Miller characteristics of this time frame. "5TH ASST SUPT" and "P. R. R." are beautifully engraved in fancy font, surrounded by floral over score and underscore. The bayonet base is intact and has a No. 1 twin tube burner affixed. Except for a minor stress crack in the brass nipple top that is not at all distracting, this unit is nearly perfect. The brass shows a light golden tarnish and is beautiful. Condition: (Excellent). Dimensions: 6" x 6" x 11".
