DUTCH PAINT DECORATED / JAPANNED PEWTER SAMOVAR, toleware-style lacquered paint decoration with gilt paint over a black ground depicting a farmhouse scene including cows, trees, a small cottage, and various geometric and leaf devices. Kettle body of baluster form raised on cabriole legs, having brass spout and simple scrolled handle with thumbrest. Bell-shaped cover with similar gold decoration. Fits atop a rounded-triangular copper warmer-stand with wooden feet. Circa 19th century. 17" H including stand and cover.

Fair condition with a moderate amount of scattered losses to paint/surface abrasions, and minor painted restoration to surface mostly limited to lower left of cottage scene. Lid finial possibly reattached. Base is wobbly.
