Description
FRENCH PORCELAIN OYSTER PLATES, LOT OF FIVE, each with scalloped rims and molded motifs to bodies, gilt decoration to surfaces and various hand-painted/transfer-printed decorations including one with polychrome sea creatures featuring jellyfish, seahorse, sea anemone, and tropical fish. Various printed marks including a green-printed arrow with "LIMOGES / FRANCE", "H & Co / L / FRANCE", a red-printed bell with "T & V / FRANCE", and other variations. French manufacturers including Haviland & Co., Tressemann & Vogt (T&V), circa late 19th/early 20th century. 8 1/2" to 9 1/4" D rims.

Condition
Very good to excellent condition overall. Three undamaged, including sea life example, except having minor wear, mostly to gilding at outer rims; rosette-printed example with shallow flake to foot, and one other plate having minor restoration to 1/4" chip at rim.
