"Elizabeth Billing, 1847", English, fine silk on linen. Depicting Georgian manor flanked by garden seats and peacocks, double alphabet and floral surround having deer and birds. Motto "Fear God and Honour the Queen". Poem reads: "Jesus permit thy gracious Name in rest, as the first efforts of an infant hand, and while her fingers on the canvas move, engage her tender thoughts to seek thy love, with thy dear children let her have a part, and write thy name dwell upon her house". In modern black frame, matted under glass, OS: 20" x 20 1/2", SS: 18 1/2" x 19".
