Item Details

Description

Large Tusks with matching detail and layout, having three young men on the left hand and three young women on the other, probably three sisters (sharing a very strong resemblance) with their husbands who attributed of their trades or interests. One young man is in the uniform of a Midshipman, the other two have hunting accoutrements, the most prosperous (and eldest?) appearing at top. The women are depicted in the finest gowns of the time, with some polychrome adornment. Both are about 22" long, the women's has lost a portion lower back, without loss to portraits.
