8x10 B&W glossy finish vintage photograph signed "To my friend Jim Wiggins with my very best wishes Nicola Moscona October 1970" in blue fountain pen ink. Some edge waving, otherwise, in good condition. (1907-1975) Nicola Moscona was a Greek-born operatic bass. Born in Athens, he made his stage debut in Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Greek National Opera in 1931, and went on to sing leading basso cantante roles both in Europe (including the Teatro alla Scala) and the United States.This lot came from the Jim Wiggins collection we purchased in July 2022. Jim Wiggins accumulated the most unique and valuable autograph collection over a period of 70-plus years. He obtained his collection either in person or by writing to persons of fame and notoriety.
