Item Details

Description

A hardwood canoe paddle beautifully carved and fashioned from maple. The perfectly shaped handle must have been placed too close to the fire at some point because it bears black singe marks on one side. However, after decades of use, the burn mark has been smoothed out completely. Original varnished condition. Old, stable five inch narrow split at the bottom of the blade. Circa 1930. Measuring, 63" length, 5 1/2" blade width. The Shaun & Joan Markey Collection.
