A hand carved West African wooden figure depicting a standing female, known as Nyeleni among the Bamana people of Mali. The figure represents an ideal marriageable woman and has prominent conical breasts, rounded hips and a helmet-shaped head. Circa the mid of the 20th century. Provenance: Ex. Bob Benz Mariland.
