Private collection, Connecticut
Marie de Brimeau (ca. 1550-1605) was the wife of Charles III de Croÿ, who commissioned the Albums de Croÿ as a record of his family's holding. Estranged from her husband, Marie led an independent life, pursuing an avid interest in botany and horticulture. She was an active member of the intellectual circle of Carolus Clusius, a noted professor of botany at Leiden University.

Glued at each corner to a sheet of card, which in turn has been affixed to the mount. A few tiny losses.
