VERY FINE PAIR OF MALLARDS by Chester Black, Bordentown, NJ, (1903-1976). Very good original paint and structural condition. Hollow construction. Both with ice groove carving. Drake with carved feather detail to back. Both with relief-carved wings with carved feather detail. Both tails with carved detail. Both heads with glass eyes and nostril and mandible bill carving. Signed by maker on bottoms. Retain John HiIllman sales tags. Chester is the son of Charles Black. For information on this family, see "Floating Sculpture" by Huster and Knight. Overall length of both is approximately 17 inches. A very fine pair of Delaware River decoys. 700-900
