Ca 1903 GAR reunion of Wilder's Lightning Brigade Indiana 17th infantry, picture was taken in front of old Lafayette Post Office, corner of 4th and Ferry Streets, demolished in 1932 and is now the site of the Charles A. Halleck Federal bldg., as a mounted infantry unit, Wilder's Brigade was recognized for its swiftness and endurance that revolutionized military tactics and caused it to become known as the Lightning Brigade, they helped save the Union Army from destruction on two occasions, at the battle of Alexander's Bridge, and also Chicamauga, there is also a 1916 Wilder's Lightning Brigade Reunion badge, reunion was held in Frankfort, Indiana, badge is 5" long, overall measurement of framed photo, 15"T x 22"W
