From Ghana, an antique necklace strand of 24 one inch flat brass spiral discs with a central threading cylinder on each. Between each set of 2 are 10 metal horn charms measuring 2" long. The discs on the strand have been cast by adopting the lost-wax traditional technique created by the Ashanti people of central Ghana. The technique is also used by the Baoule tribe from the Ivory coast, a labor intensive method used since the 3rd millenium BC. The strand measures 30" long and weighs 50 grams.
