1864 Abraham Lincoln and George Washington Portraits Patriotic Civil War Token Struck in German Silver
1864-Dated Civil War Patriotic Token, combining Portraits of Abraham Lincoln and George Washington, Fuld 127/177, Struck in German Silver, Rarity 4, Very Fine or better.
This historical Civil War Token combines the Bust Portraits of Abraham Lincoln on the obverse together with an Equestrian Statue of George Washington on the reverse. Struck in German Silver which is a scarcer version than the common copper pieces. This example has cross-market appeal to both collectors of Civil War Tokens and Political memorabilia (it is listed as 127/177 in the Fuld reference for Civil War Tokens and as AL1864-54 in the Dewitt reference for Lincolniana). Tthis German Silver composition is rarely seen in nice condition.
