Description
Two Portrait Miniatures of Children, Early 19th Century. Watercolor, unsigned. One child with short hair and brown eyes wearing a black dress, depicted holding a dog pull toy; the other with brown eyes, braids in her hair with blue bows and wearing a white dress. Each in a rectangular repousse brass frame.
Dimensions: Sight 2 1/4 x 1 3/4in; Frames 3 3/4 x 3 1/8in.
This lot comes from an Upper West Side, New York City collection that will be featured in a short lecture by noted specialist of portrait miniatures, Elle Shushan. Condition
Not examined out of the frames. Each portrait appears to be in generally good condition overall. The repousee brass frames with toning and darkening overall and minor verdigris in crevices.
