This scarce original 18th C hand colored map dated June 28th 1776 appears to be a fold out from a publication of the situation and stations of the British Vessels under the command of Sir Peter Parker upon the attack of the fort on Sullivan Island in South Carolina. Likely from the 1785 published map by Thomas Abernethie in Charlestown for David Ramsay's History of the American Revolution. It identifies all the ships and their locations during the attack. A very nice condition bold map with very minimal light toning and three page folds are present. The sight image measures 6-1/4" x 11-1/4" and overall with the frame measures 15-1/2" x20-1/2". This is ready to hang proudly in any collection.
