Terrific Dealer's Lot of Singing Entertainers' SP, 5 Pcs, All JSA Authenticated: Cole, Fitzgerald, Mills Bros., Hope, Liberace!

A terrific group of vintage photographs signed by some of the most popular American singing entertainers of the 1930s-1970s, all provided with authentication by JSA [James Spence Authentication (Parsippany, New Jersey.)] The overall condition is very good to near fine. Individual issues will be elaborated below. Please refer to catalog photos for additional information relating to condition.

The lot is comprised of, in alphabetical order:

Nat King Cole

1. A black and white glossy photograph of Nat King Cole (1919-1965), signed and inscribed by Cole as: "To Carmen / Best Wishes / Nat King Cole" at upper right. N.d., n.p. The publicity photo was for the 20th Century-Fox war movie "China Gate" co-starring Cole, Gene Barry, and Angie Dickinson released in 1957. Captioned along the bottom. Expected wear including scattered minor wrinkles. A few areas of Cole's inscription and signature are slightly smeared. Else near fine. 8" x 10." Accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity from JSA dated May 18, 2021, submission number 229619.

Ella Fitzgerald

2. A sepia-colored glossy photograph of Ella Fitzgerald (1917-1996), signed and inscribed by Fitzgerald as: "Best Wishes / 'Carmen' / Ella / Fitzgerald" at upper left. N.d., n.p. Signed in the negative "Maurice / Chicago" at lower right. Expected light surface wear, else near fine. 5" x 7." A JSA authentication sticker, submission number NN75811, is affixed to the lower left corner of the photo and corresponds to a JSA Basic Certification card, also included.

Bob Hope

3. A black and white glossy photograph of Bob Hope (1903-2003), signed and inscribed by Hope as: "To Carmen / My Best / Bob Hope" at upper left. N.d., n.p. Bearing a photo credit hand-stamp verso, and signed in the negative at lower right recto. Expected surface wear including wrinkles and isolated corner loss, else good. 7.375" x 9.25." A JSA authentication sticker, submission number NN75813, is affixed to the lower right corner of the photo and corresponds to a JSA Basic Certification card, also included.

Mills Brothers

4. A sepia-colored matte photograph signed by four members of the Mills Brothers quartet, including, from top clockwise: John Mills, Sr. (1882-1967) as "John Mills / Sr."; Donald Mills (1915-1999) as "To / Carmen / Sincere Regards / Mills Bros. / Donald Mills" (one word slightly smeared); Harry Mills (1913-1982) as "Harry Mills"; and Herbert Mills (1912-1989) as "Herbert Mills." N.d., n.p. Signed in the negative as "James J. Kriegsmann / NY" at lower right. A very light vertical crease runs down the center, mentioned just for accuracy. Else near fine. 5" x 7." A JSA authentication sticker, submission number NN75810, is affixed verso and corresponds to a JSA Basic Certification card, also included.

Liberace (W?adziu & George!)

5. A black and white glossy photograph signed by W?adziu Valentino Liberace (1919-1987) as: "Liberace" at upper right, complete with an original doodle of a concert piano with a candelabra. Countersigned by Liberace's older brother George Liberace (1911-1983) as: "and George too!" at upper left. N.d., n.p. The publicity photo was for the Warner Bros. romantic musical movie "Sincerely Yours" starring Liberace, with music composed by George Liberace, released in 1955. Captioned along the bottom. Scattered minor scuffs and stains, else very good. 8" x 10.75." A JSA authentication sticker, submission number NN75812, is affixed to the lower right corner of the photo and corresponds to a JSA Basic Certification card, also included.
