Autograph Collection.- Vintage American Actresses Group of typed letters to Miss Getrude Tuttle, signed by various actresses and stage celebrities from the early 20th century, comprising: Mary Pickford (reading in part "The Actors' Dinner Club at Union Church gives free meals to a jobless actor or actress with an Actor's Equity card or other identification...Prominent volunteer actors and actresses manage the Club so that no money is needed for overheard...We urgently need your help to carry on this highly important unemployment relief. Will you contribute $10, $25, $100, more or less, as you wish?", one page, some slitting along folding marks, loss to lower right corner, 4to, New York, 23 March 1932); Jane Cowl (typed letter mentioning the Actor's Dinner Club and asking for a financial contribution in support of the initiative, one page, 4to, New York, 28 June 1932); Lucrezia Bori (typed letter acknowledging Miss Tuttle's autograph request and her donation to the Metropolitan Opera, one page, 8vo, New York, 14 February 1933); Rose Bampton (brief autograph note, New York, 10 December 1932); Cecile Sherman (brief autograph note informing Miss Tuttle of Sherman's new address, New York, n.d. [1933], with two vintage photographs of Sherman in costume, both signed and inscribed to Gertrude Tuttle); Helen Hays (typed letter asking for Tuttle's financial support to the Stuyvesant Square Hospital, one page, some browning, 8vo, n.d. [4 May 1933]); also including: a typed letter from Eddie Cantor, asking Miss Tuttle for financial contribution to the Actors' Lounge and the Union Girls' Club, one page, New York, 14 December 1932; photographs signed by Dennis King, Yvonne Chalfonte and another, all inscribed to Gertrude Tuttle; some items affixed onto browned album pages, v.s.
