Accompanying story written by the artist: Francisco €Å“Pancho€Â Villa, born Jose Doroteo Arango Arambula in San Juan del Rio, Durango, Mexico, was a general in the Mexican revolution. In 1903, after killing an army officer and stealing his horse, he no longer was known by his birth name, but Francisco
€Å“Pancho€Â Villa after his paternal grandfather, Jesus Villa. He was
a key figure in the revolutionary movement that forced out
Mexican President Porfirio Diaz. In life, Villa helped fashion his
own image as an internationally known revolutionary hero. He
was famous for taking from the rich and giving to the poor. He
became known as the Robin Hood of Mexico.
