Known for his accurate ship drawings and paintings, down to the lastdetail, Hewitt Jackson was born in the Kirkland, Washington area in 1914. He went to sea at the young age of 12 years doing ciphering and sketching during his time off from school. He sailed the seven seas andduring his "wander" years, met prominent artists and authors including John Steinbeck and Norman Rockwell.His renderings of authentic early century sailing ships on Puget Sound show his love for historicalaccuracy and fine detail.
