Description
This poster design was commissioned by Abbott Labs , a medical products company that supplied the United States military forces in World War I and II . The text on the bottom of the poster reads "Published by Abbott Laboratories as a Contribution to the Treasury's Schools-At-War Program". This particular design depicts a pilot fully prepared to fly off into battle. The message of Lend A Hand is meant to get the domestic population to support the war effort by buying bonds that go to buy more bombs. Grant Reynard (1887 - 1968) was born in Nebraska but left in his early twenties to study painting in Paris and London. His work has been acquired by the Metropolitan Museum the Library of Congress, and many others. During his career he was a painter, etcher, lecturer, and teacher at art schools. This finely created image is typical of the detail of Reynard's style. This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed and in excellent condition. We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.
