Lincoln County, Ontario. Maple, ash. Slat-back rocking chair from Gainsborough Township in Lincoln County owned by early "Crown" family. It retains its original paint decoration in stencilling and pin-striping, and the original woven splint seat and rockers. The piece is illustrated in The Heritage of Upper Canadian Furniture by Howard Pain, Plate 911. 34.5" x 19.5" x 29.25". From the Hutchison and DiCenso Collection.
