Description
1902 Hound of the Baskervilles SHERLOCK HOLMES Arthur Conan Doyle Mystery Watson
One of the most famous stories ever written, Arthur Conan Doyles “The Hound of the Baskervilles” is the third book of the four mystery novels featuring the renowned detective, Sherlock Holmes, and his companion, Dr. Watson. Set during 1889 in the foggy moors of Englands West Country, the story follows an ancient family curse linked to the Baskervilles, which tells of a demonic hound that brings death to its members. When the latest heir, Sir Charles Baskerville, is found dead under suspicious circumstances, his successor, Sir Henry, turns to Holmes for help. Holmes, initially dismissive of the supernatural elements, sends Watson to accompany Sir Henry to the eerie Baskerville Hall. As they navigate through unusual events, peculiar locals, and an escaped convict, Watsons reports back to Holmes slowly unmask a complex web of deceit and danger, forcing Holmes himself to intervene. As the layers of this chilling mystery are peeled away, it becomes evident that there is much more at stake than just an old family legend.
This was the first edition published by P.F. Collier and Son with the note, “The latest books of Conan Doyle by special arrangement with the author.”
