Gorgeous handblown red glass vase with a ruffled rim produced by the Beacon Glass Company in New York during the 1940s. August Hofbauer of New Jersey ran Beacon starting in 1944 and continued until 1949 when it closed. They were known for employing master glass blowers and producing high-quality hand-blown glass pieces. This particular one, a red tulip vase, features ruby optic vertical paneling and an amberina ruffled rim that glows under blacklight. Pontil mark on base. A stunning collectible that would compliment any mid-century modern or art deco decor. Measures 10.25" T x 5.5" W (top) x 4" W (base). Weighs 2.25 lbs. PROVENANCE: A Private Charleston SC Estate.
