HERMES PARIS silk "A la gloire de la Legion Etrangere" scarf. The scarf features various representatives from "la Legion Etrangere", a prestigious legion of the French military created in 1831. The bottom of the central circle features the code of honor of the legion: "Honeur, Fidelite, Valeur, Discipline" which translates to "Honor, Loyalty, Valor, Discipline". The scarf is in the colors of the unit which are red, green and white. The gold branches of the medallion mention the names of various countries and regions throughout the world like Crimea, Mexico, and Madagascar. Drawn by Hugo Grygkar, first edition in 1959, never re-issued. The scarf measures approx. 34.5-34.75” Sewn in tag present. Rare
