Poster-TAA The Nations Jetline, Fly Fastest- Fly TAA Jetliner c1960s colour process litho, 91 x 61 cm, showing four panels illustrating, three of the TAA fleet TAA Electra MK II Jetliner,- TAA introduce the Lockheed Electra Mk2 Aircraft. The Electra was an 84 seater aircraft, which flew faster, had the ability to carry more passengers, and flight times were again reduced. he inevitable technological change in aircraft design saw in June 1959, TAA introduce the Lockheed Electra Mk2 Aircraft. TAA Super Viscount Jetliner,- TAA received its first Viscount in 1954, and the aircraft quickly proved profitable, leading to additional orders. TAA Friendship Jetliner,- Fokker F.27 Friendship as a replacement for the older piston-engined Douglas DC-3s. His early input into some of the design features of this aircraft helped to make it an even better aircraft for Australia’s harsh operational environment. T.A.A. ordered its first batch of six aircraft on March 09, 1956 with the first aircraft entering service in June 1959 and one interior view on board a plane. TAA, the company played a major part in the development of the Australian domestic air transport industry. The establishment of TAA broke the domestic air transport monopoly of Australian National Airways (ANA) in the late 1940s, and taking over the Queensland air network from Qantas. It was also at the time TAA supported the Flying Doctor Services of Australia by providing aircraft, pilots and engineers to ensure every emergency was answered quickly. Qantas had also been instrumental in the formation of the Flying Doctor Service. The airline's headquarters were located in Melbourne. In 1954 TAA became the first airline outside Europe to introduce the Vickers Viscount, and in 1981 it introduced the Airbus A300, the first wide-body aircraft to be purchased by an Australian domestic airline providing TAA with a clear edge over a major competitor at the time.
