Description
Daum Nancy French etched and enameled glass vase, circa 1900, of slightly flared cylindrical shape, the clear glass ground internally mottled with pale to deep yellow above toned brown mottling to the lower half simulating earth, overlaid, cut, and etched with enameled leafy stalks of flowering irises and insects amongst an arrangement of cobwebs, enriched with gilt enameling towards the base with Japonisme style foliate cartouche band, marked "Daum Nancy" bisected by a Croix de Lorraine in gilt enamel to underside. 4.5" H x 2" diameter. Provenance: From a Rye, N.Y. collection.
