A late 19th century gilt metal mounted Russian porcelain three-tier cake stand together with a small collection of matching service wares
the plates with Imperial porcelain manufactory printed marks, the centres painted in gilt and polychrome colours with a crowned A for Alexander III (1881-1894)
all with gilt scrolling acanthus leaf and lavender blue banded borders, the cake stand of three tiered graduated form with foliate gilt metal oval handle, two scallop shell spoon rests, six medium plates, a shallow twin handled dish and a larger serving plate, the rear of some pieces with olive green printed factory marks and date numbers 87 and 90, the large plate for dark blue printed factory mark, the cake stand, 44.5cm high overall (11)

In fair to good decorative condition commensurate with age and use of the piece, general nicks and chips in a few places and a few light surface scratches, dirt and dust and some small losses to the gilt decoration, one of the scallop dishes with wear/two cracks to the underside which do not come through to the top side, some of the plats with nicks/chips to the underside rim, some inherent dirt spots in places, the twin handled dish with inherent mark/crack in places, the gilt edge with pitted marks, and surface scratches, some of the plates with losses the lavender blue, to the surface beneath, some of the central reserves with light surface scratches, dust and dirt throughout to all, the gilt edges to all with wear and some rubbing in places.
